In order to start a conversation, you need to be connected to the person you want to chat with. If you are not both members of an organization, community or team, you can connect with them directly.
- Start by opening Induct.net and in the search field at the top, type the name of the person you want to connect with. If you get a large number of results, use the filters on the left-hand side to narrow down your search.
- Find the right person in the list of results, click on the "Get connected" button next to their name.
- They will now receive a notification that you would like to connect and can decide if they want to accept or decline the connection request.
- Once a connection request has been accepted, you will be able to chat with this person.
Tip
To learn more about a person before connecting, click on their name to open their user profile.
If the person you want to connect with is not showing in the search results, it could be that they don't have a Induct profile, or have their Induct profile set to 'hidden'. The latter can be change by going to My settings and General settings.
Remember
If the person you want to connect with is not showing in the search results, it could be that they (1) don't have a Induct profile, or (2) have their Induct profile set to 'hidden'. The first can easily be fixed by inviting them to join Induct. The second is a personal choice that each user can change in My settings > General settings.
